Terrific Teeth Pediatric Dentistry
Personalized dental care for children, adolescents, teenagers, young adults and special needs patients from greater Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas
Terrific Teeth Pediatric Dentistry
Terrific Teeth Pediatric Dentistry is Pittsburgh's premier pediatric dentist for kids. As a dental specialist, pediatric dentists treat children from ages infancy through college. Additionally, pediatric dentists are trained to provide dental care to patients with special health care needs of all ages.
Dr. Kelly received advanced training in dentistry for kids and Dr. Kelly is also a board certified pediatric dentist. In March of 2019, Dr. Kelly acquired the pediatric dental practice of Michael J. Hanna and renamed it Terrific Teeth Pediatric Dentistry. Read the About section to learn more about Dr. Kelly.
Dr. Kelly is proud to serve Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities. Patients and their parents seeking a caring and compassionate dentist for kids seek treatment from Dr. Kelly from as close as Robinson, Moon, McKees Rocks and the entire West Hills, to the South Hills, North Hills, Eastern Suburbs, Ohio River Valley and beyond to include the counties of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Westmoreland, Washington, Fayette, Greene – and even Ohio and West Virginia!
Fun fact: 100% of pediatric dentists are dentists. However only 3.5% of dentists receive specialty training to become pediatric dentists. Both types of dentists are “doctors of the mouth” who focus on patients’ oral care. However, for a dentist to become a pediatric dentist, one must continue their education for a minimum of two years after dental school. This additional training focusses on making dentistry relatable to children, preventative oral care, and focusing on an individual’s sustainable oral health. A pediatric dentist is skilled in a broad range of treatment techniques to safely and effectively treat your child.
Parents who visit (or are contemplating visiting) a pediatric dentist often ask us:
-
At what age should my child see a dentist?
-
What makes a pediatric dentist different from a general dentist or family dentist?
-
A dentist for kids – what? They’re only baby teeth, do we really need to see a pediatric dentist?
-
What if my child and I fear the dentist?
See our blog for answers to these questions and more.
Dr. Kelly welcomes new patients and no referral is necessary. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment – Dr. Kelly and her team look forward to meeting you.
